Harvest Festival

Image
We were unable to celebrate Harvest Festival at the church this year, but still did our best to mark this occasion. Each class presented something virtually during our online assembly.  Take a look... Bumblebees worked collaboratively to create a picture of 'Our Wonderful World'. Rabbits signed 'Let's Harvest' beautifully together as a class. Hedgehogs created some amazing faces made from fruit and vegetables. The children in Barn Owls wrote lyrics and performed their own harvest rap! Tawny Owls wrote and performed an interactive harvest poem. Finally, Kestrels read the Parable of the Sower and the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Fantastic work everyone!

Christmas Dinner and Mrs D's last day supervising dinners

Image
It was a joyous occasion, with children and staff bedecked in Christmas jumpers or headware and Christmas dinner, as Mrs D enjoyed her last session as midday supervisor after 28 years in that role! We know that she will enjoy more time looking after her granddaughter... Merry Christmas!

Nativity on Tour

Image
Year 2, some or Year and Carol Singing Club have visited The Swan Nursery School and two residential homes in Diss, to sing Christmas songs and carols. The visit was thoroughly enjoyed by both the children and the people they visited... It was lovely to help to spread Christmas cheer to others in our local community.

Carol singing around Bressingham village

Image
Having enjoyed several lunchtimes singing carols, to practise, we were excited to be going out to do some real carol-singing around the village. Hot chocolate and biscuits helped to set us up, then having wrapped ourselves up, we headed out. We carried out a collection for Water Aid, the charity chosen by School Council for this year and raised an amazing £30 in about an hour! Thank you to all of our generous listeners in the village...

Christmas Decorations Afternoon

Image
Everybody had lots of fun this afternoon, working collaboratively to make Christmas decorations for the Christmas tree.  This was a chance for the children to achieve some of their 100 memorable events: the children had an opportunity to work in groups of older and younger children and some of the older children were the leaders of the groups. They were very responsible, ensuring that all the children in their groups stayed together as they moved around the school from one activity to another. Well done to everyone...

Remembrance Day 2019

This morning, we braved the elements to walk up to the war memorial to pay our respects to those who fought in the war. It was lovely to all join together to mark this very important occasion.
